Detailed Program

Location & Venue

The neuroXRehab meeting will take place on 16–17 November 2026 in Çeşme, a coastal district on the Aegean Sea, approximately 88 km west of İzmir. İzmir is one of Türkiye’s principal cities on the western Aegean coast and has long served as a link between Anatolia and the Mediterranean. The meeting venue is Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Çeşme, located directly by the sea in the Altınyunus area of the Çeşme peninsula, close to Ilıca and Alaçatı. The venue offers on-site accommodation and meeting facilities, making it convenient for participants attending both days.

How to get here?

The nearest airport is İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), approximately 90 km from the hotel. The drive to the venue generally takes around one hour, depending on traffic.

From the airport to the hotel:

Conference Location

The conference will be held at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Çeşme, a seafront resort on the Çeşme peninsula. The property includes modern meeting rooms with audiovisual facilities and wireless internet access, as well as guest rooms and dining facilities. The meeting is held in Çeşme rather than in central İzmir, so participants should allow sufficient time when travelling from İzmir city or the airport.

The hotel is situated near Ilıca, an area known for its coastline and thermal waters, and Alaçatı, whose traditional stone houses, narrow streets and windmills reflect the character of the region. Çeşme town centre, with its historic castle, harbour and shops, can be reached by taxi or local transport.

Local Information

İzmir, historically known as Smyrna, has a history of settlement extending back approximately 8,500 years. Archaeological discoveries at Yeşilova Mound trace the region’s early inhabitants to around 6500 BCE. Over the centuries, İzmir developed into an important port and commercial centre, shaped by the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods. Its position on the Aegean coast brought together different communities, trading networks and cultural traditions. Today, this history is visible in landmarks such as the Agora of Smyrna, the Kemeraltı Bazaar and the Clock Tower in Konak Square, built in 1901. İzmir’s historical port-city area, including Kemeraltı and Kadifekale, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2020.

Çeşme has its own maritime heritage. Çeşme Castle, built in its present form in 1508 during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II, overlooks the harbour and now houses an archaeological museum. A nearby caravanserai, built in 1528 under Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, recalls the area’s importance for travellers and trade. The surrounding peninsula is also known for its coastal scenery and distinctive towns. Alaçatı is noted for its stone-built streets and windmills, while Ilıca is associated with sandy beaches and thermal waters. Local restaurants offer the flavours of Aegean cuisine, including olive-oil dishes, seasonal vegetables and seafood.

The İzmir region is also home to Ephesus, an ancient city near Selçuk and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015. Ephesus flourished under Roman rule as a major centre of trade, culture and public life in Asia Minor, and later played an important role in the history of early Christianity. The Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre are among its most remarkable surviving monuments. The nearby Temple of Artemis, dedicated to the goddess Artemis, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Accommodation

Participants will stay at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Çeşme, where the meeting is being held.
